Welcome to our 'two women bakery'

European inspired baked goods with a twist. Be surprised what you can do with flours other than wheat!

Our Story

Our affair with food began in Europe. We were both raised in countries very keen on baking. The daily buying of fresh bread was a joyful must-do, impeccably prepared and presented pastries and cakes accompanied our upbringing, each and every one a part of our cultural heritage, each one a memory in time.
In the last 20 years we both travelled and worked in many countries where our taste developed and changed. Perhaps the most poignant experience was a 7 years exploration in a small community in East Africa. Here we had to shed our European skin and absorb the vibe, taste and scent of the Indian Ocean, incorporate new foods and learn foraging as well as cultivation to support our nutrition. We grew to appreciate the resilience of a community that thrives on local food production.

What is Specialty Baking?

Baking that considers the tastes, preferences, needs, and demands of the consumer. Tell us what you like, dislike, can or cannot eat to shape our budding list of recipes. Talk to us, we’d love to meet you!

Our Goods

Our baked goods are inspired by our European roots and our love for exquisitely prepared and presented breads and pastries. We bake with wholesome ingredients that are fresh, unprocessed, organic and local where possible. All of our products are gluten-free and we work with alternatives to certain foods, grains and sugars that most commonly cause poor digestion or discomfort. At the same time we want our baking to really satisfy that comfort that comes from a sweet treat or the way freshly baked bread makes your mouth water and your taste buds go joyriding. We hope there is something in it for you all!
